Innings versus match in cricket

A cricket scoreboard such as 91/3 after 11 overs states runs, wickets and completed overs for one batting side. It does not identify a match winner. A question about the next over will settle sooner than a question about the full chase. A target can also change under official interruption rules, so market wording matters.

To interpret the score, first ask who is batting and what they need. Then identify whether the named outcome concerns the innings total or the match. Avoid translating a partial score into a final result.

A best-of-three example

Suppose a team loses game one but wins games two and three. The game-one result is a loss; the series result is a 2–1 win. A selection on game one cannot be reinterpreted as a series selection after the comeback. The example is about event scope, not a BF77 market or a prediction.

Riot Games uses best-of-three structures in named esports event formats, but other competitions can use other formats. Check the game, event and game count before reading the series score. A score of 1–0 might mean one game to zero, not one round to zero.

Fishing is not a sports score
